Robbers Hit 61-Year-Old in Face With Skateboard, Yell 'Anti-White' Statements on Upper West Side: Police

An elderly couple was robbed Friday night while walking on West End Avenue, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police are searching for two suspects who robbed an elderly couple and shouted anti-white statements at them on the Upper West Side.

A 61-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were walking on West End Avenue between West 77th and 76th streets Friday night when they were approached by two men who yelled anti-white statements at them, police told Patch.

One of the robbers hit the 61-year-old in the face with a skateboard and pushed the 54-year-old to the ground, police said. The robbers then took the 61-year-old's jacket and fled the scene, police said.

The two elderly victims were transported to St. Luke's Hospital where they were treated for their injuries, police said.

One of the suspects is described as a man standing 5-foot-10 with a dark complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing dark clothing, a black helmet and holding a skateboard. The other suspect is described at standing 6-foot-4 with a light complexion and a pink mohawk haircut, police said. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

Neither suspect has been identified or arrested, police said.
