The highly anticipated Valentine’s Day is only a day away but celebrations have already begun at businesses throughout the area.

in Wantagh, a family-owned business that has been around for 22 years, saw many basket orders last week in the lead up to the big romantic holiday.

“Business is fairly good,” said Miguel Hernandez, who owns the florist shop on 1888 Wantagh Ave. that was recently newly decorated.

Wantagh’s was brimming with customers of all ages shopping for Valentine’s Day treats.

“What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with chocolates” said Taylor and Victoria as they searched for ingredients to prepare treats for their boyfriends in the candy shop.

“Every day is like Valentine’s Day here,” said Melissa from behind the counter at the candy store located on 2119 Wantagh Ave.

Another popular shopping destination for Valentine’s Day is in Merrick, which also has a shop in Carle Place. The salon’s Carle Place location held a Valentine’s Day event called “Prepare to be Ravaged” on Feb. 9 where owners Joyce and Richard Calcasola transformed the store into a romantic paradise with jewelry ad homemade items showcased.
