Raymond Roth to Make Court Appearance Thursday

The Massapequa man accused of faking his own death at Jones Beach is scheduled to face a judge Thursday afternoon.

Raymond Roth, who was reported missing by his son Jonathan on July 28 only to show up alive, a few days later will go before Nassau Criminal Court Judge Tammy Robbins in what's expected to be a major appearance related to the case.

Roth is charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy and falsely reporting an incident, for allegedly cooking up the scheme to obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars in life insurance benefits.

Roth's son, Jonathan, was also charged in the scheme for allegedly convincing authorities his father might have drowned. The missing swimmer report set off a massive search.
