An Seaford home on Hudson Avenue that lost power late Wednesday night was damaged a few hours later during an early morning fire.

The fire broke out about 4:43 a.m. and was fought by the with mutual aid from firefighters at departments in , Massapequa and North Massapequa. Fire officials said they are trying to determine if a power failure that occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday and cut off electrical service contributed to the blaze. Residents of the home had left shortly before the power failure to stay with relatives.

The blaze was reported by a neighbor across from house who was awoken by his dog barking and with the smell of smoke, according to fire officials.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office is conducting a routine investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. There were no reported injuries. 

Just eight hours before the blaze broke out on Hudson Avenue, Seaford firefighters at a house on Parkview Avenue.
