A Seaford man and New Hyde Park woman were arrested Thursday and charged with burglarizing a house in Carle Place.

According to Nassau County Third Squad detectives, Christopher Cincotta, 22, of Seaford and Kristin Gallo, 22, of New Hyde Park went to a residence on 12th Street in Carle Place at around 11 a.m. Wednesday and gained entry through a rear window. The duo then removed assorted jewelry and fled the scene, police said.

On Thursday at approximately around 3:30 p.m., Cincotta and Gallo returned to the Carle Place residence and entered the home through the same window. They removed jewelry and an unknown amount of cash but were confronted by a relative of the homeowner as they left. Cincotta and Gallo told the 66-year old male they were there to check on the homeowner and a neighbor had let them in.

After the defendants left the scene, the man who confronted them became suspicious, checked the home and discovered items missing. He then notified police. Both Gallo and Cincotta were located at their residence and taken into custody without incident.

Cincotta and Gallo were both charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
