Woman Who Killed Ex-Husband Pleads Guilty to Assault

Woman Who Killed Ex-Husband Pleads Guilty to Assault

Nancy Boland, the North Bellmore woman who allegedly killed her ex-husband in November of 2011 pleaded guilty Tuesday to beating her mother with her cane while she was released on bail in January of 2012.

According to Newsday, Suffolk County prosecutors agreed that the sentence of seven years in prison for assault would run concurrently with the seven-year term she faces in Nassau County for killing her ex-husband in his North Bellmore home.

Boland, 57, was charged with second-degree assault, said Robert Clifford, a spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney's office. He said that Boland got into an argument with her mother, Marie Wieden, 83, at the Oakdale home they shared and beat Wieden on the head, face and arm.

Wieden was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was treated for bruising and a broken nose, Clifford told Newsday.

Until Monday night, Boland had been free on $1 million bond after being charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of her 58-year-old ex-husband, Walter Boland.

According to New York State Police, an investigation revealed that Walter Boland was stabbed after a dispute with his ex-wife at the residence they shared in North Bellmore on Nov. 16, 2011.

Nancy Boland removed the victim's body from the residence and disposed the body on the Wantagh State Parkway bike path, where he was found on Nov. 18.

Police said Nancy Boland confessed to the crime. Her lawyer, David Besso, told Newsday that Boland was staying in North Bellmore while she and her mother were renovating their Oakdale home and that they recently moved in the house.
