Greek Gods Come Alive For Westhampton Beach Students
The kids even made a model Parthenon recently during a project about Greek gods.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Opa! The magic of ancient Greece came alive for Westhampton Beach students recently.
As part of an interdisciplinary lesson surrounding the book, “The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 1),” by Rick Riordan, Westhampton Beach Middle School sixth-graders participated in a research project about Greek gods.
Students worked in teams to study a Greek god in the library, write up an informational newsletter about their god, construct three ancient “artifacts,” and build a paper Parthenon, the district said.
