Hampton Bays Car Fire Extinguished Quickly Sunday: Officials

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A car fire in Hampton Bays was quickly extinguished Sunday, officials said.

According to the Hampton Bays Fire Department, the call came in at 12:22 p.m. about a vehicle fire on W. Montauk Highway just west of the railroad bridge.

A heavy rescue engine "made quick work" of extinguishing the fire in the Corvette; traffic was diverted during the incident, officials said.
