Hampton Bays High School Hosts Annual On-Site Admissions Day
Students met with college representatives during the event held last month.

Hampton Bays High School students had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with admissions representatives from college and universities during an annual on-site admissions day on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Throughout the day, students not only met with college representatives in 15-minute intervals, but many walked away with admissions decisions in hand.
High school counselor Thomas Little said that of the 93 student participants, 22 were accepted to four-year colleges and 71 were accepted to two-year colleges.

Upon transcript review, 53 students, who had not yet applied, were rated as “acceptable” by the four-year college representatives in attendance.
Colleges and universities on hand included Briarcliff College, Dowling College, Johnson & Wales University, L.I.U. Post, SUNY Albany, SUNY Buffalo State, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Farmingdale, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Plattsburgh, SUNY Potsdam, St. Joseph’s College, Suffolk Community College and Vaughn College.

The U.S. Air National Guard, U.S. Army National Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Marines were also represented.
