Local Cops Recognized for DWI Enforcement Efforts

Three local law enforcement officers were recognized on Tuesday morning for their efforts in 2012 in enforcing the state’s DWI laws.

The officers were among 24 cops that were given the title of Top Cop at a ceremony held at Suffolk County Community College’s West campus.

In total, the 24 cops made 5,292 arrests in 2012, with one deputy sheriff charging 108 offenders with DWI.

Among those local officers honored were: John Galvin, of the Quogue Village Police Department; Steven McManus of the Westhampton Beach Fire Department, and Keith Phillips, of the Town of Southampton Police Department.
