People You Should Know: Jennifer Marchese of Wildflower Florists

Marchese lives in a world that explodes her senses in color, texture, aroma and sight.

Before Jennifer Marchese was a trained horticulturist and owner of in Westhampton Beach, she was Jenny from the East End.

Marchese graduated from and worked in almost all the florists in the East End. When she was 18 years old, her job at Fraiser’s Florist in Quogue opened the door to her talent and taste in designing color and texture in floral designs. Marchese lives in a world that explodes her senses in color, texture, aroma and sight. While she loves all her flowers, the bright yellow sunflowers make her especially happy.

For the past 11 years living on a farm in Manorville, Marchese has learned to appreciate and value the environment, while cultivating her organic blueberries and wild flowers.

On occasions, she leaves her blueberry farm and flower shop to sing the National Anthem at public events, such boxing matches on HBO.

Last summer, Marchese sang in a band that covered Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder at 75 Main in Southampton.

Marchese did the wedding flowers in Las Vegas for the infamous Micky Ward the boxer highlighted in the movie The Fighter and this year, her shop is busy with weddings, funerals and special occasions and is booked until November.

In her down time, she indulges her guilty pleasure with pizza at Brunettis in Westhampton Beach.

Just as we were about to close our chat, a tall, young handsome man came in with a present for Marchese—a fruit tart from Beach Bakery. When you have a loving son, home from the University of Arizona, like Corey, who works at but has the time to remember his mom, it doesn’t get much better.
