WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — A pickup truck was fully engulfed in flames on Sunrise Highway Friday night, fire officials said.

According to the Westhampton Beach Fire Department, the incident took place at 10:40 p.m.; initial reports indicated that there had been a possible rollover. However, when Third Assistant Chief Jeff Wachenfeld arrived, he told headquarters that'd he'd found a pickup truck in the center median, fully involved in flames, officials said.

Firefighters responding with an engine, a rescue truck, and a tanker quickly extinguished the flames, which had not spread to the grass in the median, officials said.
