What Our Readers Think: Finn's Last Day

On Saturday, served its last pint of beer and dish of chicken wings. The six-year-old after the owners and the landlords failed to reach a lease agreement.

Patch readers had a lot to say on the closing. Here is a round-up of what they said. Feel free to add to the conversation by posting your thoughts in the comment section below.

said, "Another business falling victim to a bad economy and lethargic government policies. It's a shame to see another family business go by the wayside."

I watched him recover from an aerial crash; coming home on a stretcher in a body cast; in months training and then running and then flying again; so I guess he applied his "Lazarus" techniques to Finns. It didn't work this time. Any restaurant requires 24/7 365 management. The best managers are working partners with skin in the game. Maybe it was the business model or trying to rehabilitate the bad image halo from Ramsey and company. This corridor is a busy thoroughfare. The location is great, same for the restaurant and auto dealership site across the street. A property owner will always have options whereas when a restaurant fails to break even it must close its doors. Competition is stiff. It takes 3-5 years of consistent food and service for an establishment to be taken seriously. There are only a handful of really great restaurants in the GWB footprint, whereas there are nearly a hundred food establishments. One must keep in mind that If Rechler's development of Gabreski proceeds on schedule and fully rents, all locations on this road will see increased traffic and business. Joe Gazza probably walks away with the biggest bang for the buck having bought both sides of the street way back when."
