West Islip will soon be home to a new private school, as The Bridges Academy prepares to open in Kirdahy.
Bridges has agreed to lease out 15,000 square feet of space in the school at a rate of $13,500 per month, according to West Islip Board of Education President Steve Gellar. The current lease agreement is for one year, though renewal options are included in the contract, Gellar said.
The private school is a non-denominational reincarnation of St. Peter's By-The-Sea in Bay Shore, which closes at the end of June.
News of the agreement has sparked a flurry of comments from our readers in the community. We want you to weigh in on Kirdahy's new tenant.
