White Plains Launches New Parking App

The app, available for iPhones and Android phones, is called ParkWhitePlains

White Plains has launched a new parking app, called ParkWhitePlains, that is designed to make paying for metered parking in the city more convenient.

The app is available in the online Apple App Store and Google Play store, or can be viewed on the web by clicking here.

Once a user downloads the app, they must enter a valid credit or debit card for payments. Those without smartphones can use the website or call 914-422-8222 to pay.

The meters will continue to accept coins, too, but using the app will allow people to avoid going back to the meter to feed it money. Meters where a person pays with the app will show “expired,” but enforcement officers receive real time data to show that parking at a particular meter has been paid for.

“The new ParkWhitePlains app will make paying for parking easier, faster, more convenient and more reliable,” officials said in a statement. “Its innovative technology will help you locate public parking facilities in the city and offer merchant validation, so when you patronize your favorite stores and restaurants you can now also receive parking discounts.”
