WPHS' 'The Roar' Wins Top Honors Again

The American Scholastic Press Association has awarded 'The Roar', White Plains High School's 2012 literary magazine, with a first place prize.

WPHS' 'The Roar' Wins Top Honors Again

 

'The Roar' has received yet another award for literary excellence.

The literary magazine of White Plains High School received first place for overall merit in the American Scholastic Press Association's annual competition. White Plains High School senior Linnea Kataja also earned an outstanding section award for her art work in "Fath, Love, Hope".

The publication's editors in chief this year were seniors Kailey Zitaner and Eero Talo. Teacher Brendan Donegan served as the publication's advisor.

'The Roar' also received the same award in 2012, as well as a Silver Medalist Certificate from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in 2010, and a Gold Medalist Certificate from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for 2011.
