Lander Sets Up Supermarket Ride Share Program

With the , residents without cars are at risk of being stranded with little by way of fresh food.

An eventful impressed upon at least one Walgreens rep that the forthcoming store, tentatively set to open in March of next year, better have a grocery selection.

In the meantime, though, Councilman Brad Lander, D-Park Slope, has set up a temporary ride share program that neighbors can use to help one another get to and from far-flung supermarkets in other neighborhoods.

An online form is available for those interested in participating—either by offering a ride, or in need of one. Just fill it out, and Lander's office will coordinate a ride for you.
