Mail Truck Catches Fire In Somers Monday
The mail carrier said he was able to get some items out of the truck before it was destroyed.
SOMERS, NY — An engine fire in a mail truck damaged the vehicle and some of the mail that was being carried in it. The fire occurred around 2 p.m. Monday near Warren Street in Somers.
The mail carrier, who was not injured, was able to get some of the items out of the truck before it was destroyed by flames, the Journal News said.
Tapinto.net identified the mail carrier as Brewster resident Jonathan Jusino, 34.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
