The Great Yorktown Deer Debate
Which side are you on?
After all, it's as much your Patch as ours. We noticed quite a debate on our pages over the proposed deer cull at Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining.
The organization says "reducing the deer herd is necessary to restore the ecological integrity" of the preserve, which stretches across Cortlandt, New Castle and Yorktown.
Read about the petition to stop the "deer slaughter" here, and click here for the "very strong science behind" the proposal, as told by Bill Kellner of Yorktown's Tree Conservation Advisory Commission. Then have your say in the comments below.

Patch terms: While we encourage people to be honest and post what’s on their mind, communities thrive when people care about each other, and as such, Patch expects all of its users to be respectful of others. This means that whether you are being complimentary or critical, whether you are agreeing or disagreeing with the subject of an article or another user’s comment, you should act in a civil manner and refrain from personal attacks – after all, these are your neighbors.
