Dozens of area residents gathered at the Jefferson Valley Mall Sunday to wait their turn to take a picture with .
Families brought their dogs, some barking with excitement, others patiently waiting their turn. Two 4-month old adopted kittens also made an appearance, but all had a common goal -- to continue a family holiday tradition and make new memories.
Pet owners said they will be sending the pictures to friends and family as their Christmas cards.
Lauren Penchina, director of marketing for the Jefferson Valley Mall, said over the years they've seen various animals, including an iguana, a turtle, parrots, as well as cats and dogs.
The next night is Dec. 11 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
