A team from Virginia Tech and UNC are testing area water samples for inorganic contaminants. Here's how to get your water tested.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Virginia Tech and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill are offering free well water testing for residents in Mooresville.
“We were contacted by the Iredell Health Department and concerned residents,” Kelsey Pieper a postdoctoral environmental engineering fellow at Virginia Tech told Patch. “Our team has been testing well water in several North Carolina counties for inorganic contaminants like arsenic, chromium, and lead. We are trying to better understand the occurrence and sources of these contaminants in well water. We are also helping residents learn more about their well water quality and provide information and resources to correct any issues.”
