Body of Man Found At Miller Road Park

The body of a white man in his early 30s was found in the water off Miller Road Park beach just after 6:20 p.m. Aug. 13.

Lt. Duane Streator said a juvenile found the body, which “did not appear to be in the water very long" near the beach area near the designated swim area by

Personal affects were located at the beach leading investigators that the body is a 34-year-old male from North Olmsted.  Notification of the next of kin is pending.

According to a press release issued by the police, the man was deceased when rescue personnel arrived. 

"There were no obvious signs of trauma to the deceased male," the release said.  The body was taken into an Avon Lake ambulance before being transferred to a Lorain County Coroner’s van at 7:30 p.m. It was transported to the morgue at Elyria Memorial Hospital.

Streator could not confirm whether the individual had been swimming or fishing. Foul play was not suspected.

A Porsche convertible, believed belonging to the man, was towed from the park.

On July 4, a at "the cut" area of the park near a non-designated swim area.

In August of 2011, also drowned while fishing.
