Dolce Wraps Bringing Mediterranean Food to Avon Commons

Dolce Wraps, which serves Mediterranean-based food, will be opening in Avon Commons, owner Farah Lahham said this week.

“We’re hoping to open in the next four weeks, but we’ll see,” he said. The eatery, which will seat 40 indoors, is going in to the space formerly occupied by Hot Dog Heaven.

Lahham founded Dolce Wraps, which also operates a location in Fairview Park.

“The name includes “wraps,” but we’ll also serve other Middle Eastern items such as hummus, tabouli, felafel and salads,” Lahham said.

Lahham said food would be made to order including sautéed fresh vegetables with chicken or steak and a choice of sauce. Ordering will be done at the counter and immediately prepared. Dolce Wraps will also offer a selection of vegan items.

“This is real steak, like shawarma,” he said. Meat will be prepared on a rotisserie and shaved fresh.

“Everything is cooked fresh on a daily basis. We don’t deal with frozen food, with the exception of pita that will turn into pita chips."

The Jerusalem-born Lahham is not a stranger to Mediterranean food. His family founded the Aladdin eateries. Lahham is no longer invested in the establishment but was responsible for food selection when he was.

“The food is priced really well,” he added. "The most expensive item on the menu is  $5.95. And everything is fresh; it will speak for itself.”

Patrons can expect their meals to be quickly prepared, also.

“I call it the new generational fast food,” Lahham said.

He plans on having outdoor seating available, weather permitting, similar to . The new location will employ approximately 10.
