Power Outage Update from Office of the Avon Lake Mayor:

First Energy’s latest estimate for restoration of power in Avon Lake is 95 percent of the city should have power by Monday night and with a goal of 100 percent of our residents back on by midnight Tuesday.

With this latest information a Red Cross shelter will be opened in Avon Lake at St Joseph Church (32929 Lake Road). This shelter will be open this evening by 8 p.m. The Old Firehouse Community Center on the corner of Lake Road and SR 83 will remain open until 8 p.m. to serve as a reception area for residents who are seeking shelter.

If you require transportation to the shelter please call 440-933-4567 or 440-933-8305. If you plan on using this shelter please bring any personal items such as medications, toiletries and identification. Do not bring valuables. Pets are not permitted in the shelter.

As communications remain interrupted we ask you to to pass along this shelter information to your neighbors and friends.

Two of the city’s polling locations for Tuesday's election remain without power. If there is a need to move your polling location we will notify residents of this change.
