Winter Cold Settles In

The National Weather Service issues a wind chill advisory; snow warning continues

Winter Cold Settles In

Extremely cold weather is settling into Northeast Ohio and staying for several days.

The National Weather Service on Tuesday night issued a Winter Weather Message warning of snow, gusty winds and extremely cold temperatures.

Through Wednesday morning, accumulations on the west side of Cleveland are expected to be less than one inch. If you're traveling to the east side in the morning, expect possible commuter issues: they are expecting four to eight inches of snow overnight, with temperatures ranging from 2 degrees to 10 degrees above zero. Winds are from the west at 10 mph to 15 mph, with gusts of up to 25 mph. Wind chill is expected to drop to 15 below zero.

The National Weather Service warns that driving may be very slow, impossible or hazardous with highly variable road conditions, especially along the lakeshore. It may be clear skies in one place, with blowing snow and near-zero visibility a few miles away.

Temps are not expected to climb into the 30s until Monday.
