Woman Has Narrow Escape in Car Crash

A woman escaped serious injury when she drove her car into a ditch off Just Imagine Drive near on March 26.

said the car was at such a steep angle in the ditch that it was in danger of flipping over.

The woman was treated and released from Avon EMH Emergency Care Center. No charges were filed.

A Happy Ending

A missing dog was returned to his family after being found by a woman on Jaycox Road.

The woman called police around 11 p.m. on March 26 after finding the yellow lab near her home in the 2500 block of Jaycox Road. The dog hung out in the laundry room of her home until police were able to come pick him up and bring him to the police station kennel.

About 40 minutes later, the dog’s family called police to report him missing. The dog, named Buddy, was happily reunited with his family a few minutes later.


A teenaged boy was cited for drug abuse after he and two other teenaged boys were caught with drugs in their car while parked at just after 9:15 p.m. on March 26. They were all turned over to their parents.

A Rude Awakening

A female truck driver parked in the parking lot to sleep was awakened by someone pounding on the side of her truck around 3 a.m. on March 25.

The truck driver told Avon police that when she opened the door, there was a young white woman, with blond hair in a ponytail and a tattoo on the back of her right shoulder, outside the truck. The young woman seemed surprised to see a woman open the door, the truck driver said, and walked away.

Another truck driver let the young woman into his truck, the truck driver said.
