2 Cleveland Giant Eagles, 1 GetGo Gas Station Closing

The grocery store chain announced the closings via a press release today.

CLEVELAND, OH - If you're a regular Giant Eagle shopper in Cleveland, you may be looking for a new place to buy groceries soon. The chain announced it was closing two locations in the city and one GetGo Gas Station.

First, the store on 11501 Buckeye Road and the GetGo on 2780 E 116th Street will close on February 4.Then the store at 13820 Lorain Avenue will close on March 4. The store's pharmacies will close Jan. 14, ensuring all prescriptions are successfully transferred.

There are approximately 120 employees between the different locations. The chain says they will try to find positions for those employees at other stores, WKYC reports.

“Northeast Ohio, and Cleveland specifically, are important communities for Giant Eagle, and we remain committed to supporting customers throughout the region for years to come," said Dan Donovan, Giant Eagle spokesperson, in a press release.

“We thank our customers for their years of patronage at these locations, and invite them to visit us at our other Cleveland supermarkets including our West 117th Street and Edgecliff Avenue Giant Eagle stores” said Donovan.
