Botched Home Robbery Gets Two Men Shot on Cleveland's East Side

Two suspects marched a man into his house at gunpoint. The suspects then fired at the home's other resident when he came downstairs.

CLEVELAND, OH - Two men suffered gunshot wounds during a botched home invasion on Cleveland's East Side. One man was shot in the thigh while the other suffered a grazing wound to the foot.

One of the victims, a 34-year-old, told police that he was outside of the home on E. 66 Street when two men with guns came out from behind his garage. They held a gun to him and ordered him into the house.

The second victim, a 37-year-old, came down stairs because he heard voices he didn't recognize. As he walked down the stairs, the two men opened fire and began shooting at him. The 34-year-old jumped into action and began fighting with the suspects for one of the guns. The gun fired two more times and the suspects fled out the back door.

During the scuffle, the 37-year-old was shot in the right thigh. He was taken to MetroHealth for treatment. The 34-year-old suffered a smaller, bullet-grazing wound to his foot.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
