Cleveland Cyber Depot Clerk Shoots Thief During Robbery

In a strange twist, store security pursued the robber but lost him when they located an unrelated shooting victim.

CLEVELAND, OH - A Cyber Depot clerk shot and wounded a man trying to rob the store Oct. 30. The clerk told officers that the man came into the store, flashed a gun and robbed the clerk. As the robber fled the store, the clerk grabbed his gun and told the robber to stop. The robber ran and the clerk chased him. Then the robber tried to pull his gun at the clerk and the clerk shot him in the leg.

Police later identified the robber as Renard D. Carter, 32-year-old male.

Then, because crime is sometimes insane, while security from the store pursued Carter they located another shooting victim. While attending to that victim, Carter got away. The unidentified shooting victim then left the area prior to police arriving.
