Children Busted After Hurling Concrete at Oncoming Traffic

Cuyahoga Falls police caught three kids on Feb. 9 and charged them with multiple misdemeanors following the dangerous incident.

Children Busted After Hurling Concrete at Oncoming Traffic

Three children were caught and questioned by Cuyahoga Falls police on Feb. 9 after officers received reports that chunks of wood and concrete were raining down from the railroad bridge that stretches across Howe Avenue.

Police say the juveniles, ages 11, 11 and 14, admitted to hurling the heavy debris at oncoming traffic.

The largest item thrown from the bridge onto Howe Avenue was an 18-inch piece of concrete that weighed about 50 lbs., according to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department Facebook page.

At least one car was struck by a softball size piece of concrete and sustained minor damage to its hood.

No injuries were reported.

The juveniles were charged with vehicular vandalism, a first-degree misdemeanor; criminal damaging, a second-degree misdemeanor; and criminal trespassing, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
