Seeking Welcome Families for International High School Students

Seeking Welcome Families for International High School Students

Hosting an international high school exchange student is an ideal way to open your family’s eyes to the world, promote a sense of adventure and set the course for lifelong learning.

Please consider opening your home for 4-6 weeks as a welcome family to an international high school student this Fall semester!

Fabian, M, 15, Germany: My hobbies are soccer and playing the piano. I play for a local soccer club. Sports are very important to me. When I finish school I plan to study economics. I am interested in the stock market and international affairs. I would really enjoy working in New York City on Wall Street. English is my favorite subject at school, I am sure that spending a year at an American school will be a valuable experience. I am really looking forward to meeting my American host family.

Markus, M, 17, Finland: Our family is very athletic. Everybody does some sport even my parents. I play soccer. In winter time I also downhill ski and I can also play ice hockey quite well. I´m very outgoing and I make friends easily. I have a positive attitude towards life in general. We Finns are famous for not smiling or laughing enough, but I try to be an exception to this “rule”: )It would be a great experience to be an exchange student. It would be an opportunity to learn English language properly and learn to know the culture in the USA. It would be cool to make new foreign friends and experience new thing with my host family.

Lynn, F, 15, Germany: In my free time I am playing handball for more than nine years and since last summer I am coach of a girls team. I have played the guitar for 5 years. I like being creative, like drawing or creating my room and other things.  During my stay abroad I want to meet people with a different life. I want to learn more about the culture in the USA than I have learned during my holidays. This experience is very important for me, too, because I think it’s a big step for a person to gain new experiences and thereby get more self-confidence.

Share your family’s traditions and get to know another culture

Become more involved within your community

You do not have to have other children in your home to qualify as a host parent.
