Here's our start on the candidates and issues we'll be covering as November draws near. Bookmark this page for later election updates.

  •   President Obama: He's been here before, so who knows? He might stop by again. If so, we'll be there.
  • GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney: the former Massachussetts governor has repeatedly, including in several Ohio Patch towns. We'll cover any more local trips to the region.
  • US Rep. Marci Kaptur (D) will square off against Republican challenger Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, also known as Joe the Plumber. after the two longtime representatives’ districts were merged into a new Ninth District.
  • In the , Democratic State Rep. will have company in November's general election. Political newcomer Matthew Deibel, a Republican from Lakewood, is her lone Republican challenger.
  • In the race for Cuyahoga County Council, District 2 (which represents Lakewood), incumbent Dale Miller (D) will square off against GOP candidate Anna Melendez. 
  • The city of Lakewood may also propose a charter change that would align Lakewood’s filing deadline for elections to municipal offices with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. If OK’d by Lakewood City Council, that measure would also appear on the November ballot.
