More Political Signs Stolen in Lakewood

Political signs stolen 

A resident in the 1500 block of Chesterland Avenue told police that her Romney signs were stolen from her property on Oct. 25. She told police it was the second time in one week that her signs had been “uprooted.” During the past couple weeks, there have been several reports of political signs — from both sides — stolen in Lakewood. 

Bad friend

A man in the 2000 block of Morrison Avenue told police that he allowed a friend to spend the night on Oct. 20, and afterward his TV and tablet were missing.

Criminal damaging

A resident in the 2100 block of Dowd Avenue that a woman broke a window of the home and tried to enter the home at around 1:20 p.m. Oct. 21, but instead took off on foot. Police were unable to catch up to the woman.

Cab driver fooled by $20 bill

A taxi driver told police that he received a counterfeit $20 bill in the 1300 block of Lakewood Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. Oct. 22. Turns out, the bill wasn’t counterfeit.

Rental car stolen

A rental car was reported stolen from the Hertz Rent-A-Car on Madison Avenue at around 10 a.m. Oct. 22.


A man was charged with assault after he was fighting with another man in the 1200 block of Fry Avenue at around 1 p.m. Oct. 22.

Breaking and entering

A resident in the home of a home in the 2000 block of Lark Avenue told police that someone broke into the basement at around 6:20 p.m. Oct. 23 and stole several items.


A vacant house in the 2100 block of Mars Avenue was broken into on Oct. 23, and tools were reported stolen.

Dangerous drugs

A man was charged with dangerous drugs following a traffic stop near the intersection of W. 117th Street and Carbon Road at around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24.
