U.S. Rep. Steven LaTourette, Ohio State Sen. John Eklund, Ohio Reps. Ron Young and Lorraine Fende, Lake County Commissioner Dan Troy and Max Blachman, a representative for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, spoke at the breakfast and answered questions from the audience.

Eklund used the forum to discuss what he saw as Ohio's improving economic fortune.

Eklund is the senator of Ohio's 18th district, which is up for election this year.

Tim Grendell was the senator for that district but he gave up the position when he was appointed judge of the Geauga County Juvenile Court. Consequently, Eklund was appointed to finish Grendell's term.

Eklund is . He will face Democrat Jim Mueller, a Russell Township trustee who is also running unopposed in the primary, this November.
