Notably, there has been some conflict between the city's major institutions this year. The financial task force recommended the library become part of the county library system. The library responded by voting down the recommendation for joining the county system.

"I view inclusion in the County library system as an open question and see the recommendation in this report as being premature. It lacks the evidence necessary to provide much guidance to the Shaker Library Board about how to proceed. We can and will, however, take it under advisement as a matter of opinion," wrote Chad Anderson, President Library Board of Trustees in responde.

Panelists include:

City of Shaker Heights:
  • Tres Roeder, Shaker City Council Member
  • Nancy Moore, Shaker City Council Member
Shaker Heights City Schools:
  • William Clawson, President, Shaker Heights Board of Education
  • Stephen Wilkins, Assistant Superintendent, Business and Operations
Shaker Heights Public Library:
  • Chad Anderson, President, Shaker Heights Library Board of Trustees
  • Amy Switzer, Director, Shaker Heights Public Library
