Ballot Issue 87 asks voters to change the city charter.
If approved, the amendment would alter Article IV, Section 6 of the charter to allow Solon City Council to take action related to boundary or zoning ordinance changes under an emergency measure if necessary.
Solon voters and those in affected wards would still have to approve such changes by a majority.
This is the ballot language:
Shall Article IV, Section 6, of the Charter of the City of Solon be amended to allow for the Council to take action relating to any changes in the boundaries or zoning ordinances of the City under an emergency measure if necessary, while still requiring approval by a majority of the electors city-wide and in each applicable ward?
