Solon High Hosts Band Bash Saturday
The Solon High School Marching Band will host the fifth-annual Band Bash at 7 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Field

Into music? Then is where you want to be Saturday night.
The high school will host the fifth-annual Band Bash featuring more than 800 students from six marching bands including, of course, the marching Comets.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at Stewart Field. The gates open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $6. If you buy your ticket in advance at either the or , it will cost only $5.

"This really is a fun family event," said Solon band director Ed Kline. "There’s always an entertaining mix of songs and a lively display of marching styles.
"Over the past five years, we have enjoyed getting to showcase the hard work, talent and creativity of these students and schools," he added.

The bands will show off their instrumental interpretations of rock classics, popular hits, swing tunes and even some disco. The play list ranges from Beyonce to Billy Joel and from The Who to The Trammps.
This year’s bash will feature performances by high school marching bands from Maple Heights, Bedford, James A. Garfield in Garrettsville, West Geauga in Chester Township and Riverside in Painesville.
Proceeds from the event, sponsored by the Solon Music Parents, go to support the high school's instrumental music program.
