Traffic Peeves? City Wants to Know

Council will look at areas where flow is poor, signals aren't effective

Traffic Peeves? City Wants to Know

Councilman Joe DeMio wants to get traffic moving in Strongsville.

The at-large councilman is asking his colleagues to come up with a list of areas in town where traffic bogs down or places where signals don't keep cars flowing like they should.

"We need to try to solve traffic issues around town," DeMio said.

He's also asking residents to call their council rep and pinpoint areas where they get stuck.

(If you like, you can leave your comment at the end of this story and we'll forward it to DeMio).

Once he gets a list of the biggest problem areas, DeMio wants to start working on fixes, either with better-synchronized signals or new traffic patterns.

"We'll let the (city) engineer and the police know what we think is needed for better traffic flow," he said.

A big part of . The signals on Pearl Road from Westwood to Ellsworth are still being synchronized following the widening project.

Council is expected to discuss the list at its next caucus Feb. 20.
