Ace Hardware Opens Westlake Store Wednesday

Need a hammer? Some paint? Have to get a new tank of propane for your grill?

No need to wander the big-box stores. Ace Hardware opens Wednesday morning at 27255 Detroit Road, at the intersection of Detroit and Dover Center Roads.

There will be a soft opening at 8 a.m. with a "chain-cutting" ceremony at 9 a.m.

The building was last a .

The store is part of the E&H Hardware Group, which is part of E&H Family Group which also owns Buehler Food Markets. The company had Ace stores in New Philadelphia, Dover, Orrville, Medina, Delaware and Jackson Township before expanding to the Cleveland market with stores in Rocky River and Independence.

Bob Buehler said the location was ideal.

"We had been talking with people from Ingersoll Hardware in Rocky River, and saw the opportunity in Westlake," he said. "This was the larger retail space we wanted."

The Westlake store will carry national brands such as Benjamin Moore paint, Stihl outdoor power equipment, and some Craftsman products. There will be seasonal products such as gardening supplies and lawn mowers in the spring and summer, and Christmas lights and snow shovels in the winter.

Ace will also offer services like custom key cutting, screen repair, knife and blade sharpening, carpet cleaner rentals, glass cutting and propane tank exchanging.

Customers can also order online at the Ace Hardware website and pick up their products at the store without shipping charges.

Store hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
