Fraudster Uses Westlake Man's Identity to Buy $1,100 Worth of Stevie Nicks Tickets
Someone also shipped marijuana and T-shirts to a local business. Those and other incidents in this week's blotter.
WESTLAKE, OH - A local man was unable to Go His Own Way this past week because some enterprising digital fraudster and apparently Fleetwood Mac fan used his credit card to purchase $1,100 in Stevie Nicks concert tickets. Read more about that incident below.
Drug Offense, Jan. 13 - Someone shipped three marijuana plants to a Clemens Road business’s former Elyria location, along with a selection of pot and hydroponic farming t-shirts. The package was then routed to the company’s Westlake facility; it originated in Colorado and was received on Jan. 13. All the material was turned over to the Lorain County Drug Task Force.

Fraud, Jan. 12 - A North Ridgeville woman's credit card was used to make charges totaling $2,268. The woman made a legitimate purchase from her Westlake workplace when the bogus charges appeared. The retailer where the fraudulent purchases were made could not provide the victim any information on the purchases.

Motor Vehicle Theft, Jan. 13 - A car stolen in Cleveland on Dec. 11 was found in Westlake in a Center Ridge Road parking lot. The car had a peeled column and was impounded by police.
Attempted Petty Theft, Jan. 14 - Police arrested a 19-year-old Fairview Park woman and a 17-year-old Cleveland girl who fled a Crocker Park store after they were confronted by staff for theft. The two females were filling bags with merchandise when staff caught on. The duo were caught nearby. They face charges of Attempted Petty Theft, Obstructing Official Business, and Possession of Criminal Tools.

Fraud, Jan. 14 - The world's biggest Stevie Nicks fan may also be a part-time personality thief. The Nicks fanatic used a Sherwood Drive man's credit card account to purchase $1,100 worth of Nicks' concert tickets over the Internet. The account has been closed and the theft reported.
