Live Fit Personal Training Expands To New Space

 is taking it to the next level. The personal training studio has moved to a new spot on Viking Parkway and they've added a new boot camp program.

"We did lose some clients, but we have a lot more clients now than we ever did there because of the new boot camp," said owner Mike Starkweather.

The boot camps, offered in the morning and in evening, are a total body workout that include strength training and cardio. Starkweather said it's an opportunity to try personal training.

"These are people that haven't done the one on one training," he said. "Once people do that, they love it."

The new space includes a cardio room where clients can warm up and cool down, a private shower and a large space for 

Starkweather and his wife moved to Westlake to work at the Gold's Gym at . When it became , Starkweather decided to open his own fitness studio.

"We're all lifers here," he said of himself and the five trainers. "We collaborate, and we all have different backgrounds."

Trainers attend continuing education seminars to keep their certificates up to date, and they customize each workout to the client.

The originial spot on the corner of Center Ridge and Columbia roads opened in 2008. Their new space is about three times bigger.

"Everyone loves the additional space," Starkweather said. "We can have more fun with the equipment and we can use equipment we had in the back, but we just didn't have room for."
