Hillsboro Barn Destroyed by Fire

It took more than 25 firefighters more than one hour to bring the blaze under control.

A massive fire destroyed a barn in Hillsboro Friday morning. More than two dozen firefighters spent more than one hour in escalating temperatures bringing the fire under control.

The call to the Hillsboro Fire Department and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue came around 11:20 Friday morning,

When they arrived at the barn at 23200 Northwest Union Road they found heavy black smoke and flames coming from the front and someone inside trying to extinguish the flames and rescue some items.

Firefighters got the person out and went to work attacking the fire. But it was too late. The fire was too intense. The barn and everything in it are considered a total loss.

One neighbor was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
