No One Injured in Hillsboro Truck Fire

Fire happened outside the entrance to the handfill

A garbage truck caught fire Wednesday afternoon by the Hillsboro Landfill. No one was injured.

Hillsboro firefighters arrived at 3203 SE Minter Bridge Road to find the truck with heavy smoke coming from the cab and engine compartment.

The crew from Engine 2 attacked the fire while additional firefighters from Engine 1 arrived and secured additional water from a nearby hydrant.

It took about five minutes to get the fire knocked down.

A Hillsboro Fire Investigator arrived shortly after the fire was extinguished. The investigator interviewed the driver and began examining the wreckage to determine the cause of the fire. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
