Portland Teen's Pet Snake Gets Stuck In Her Ear

And you think you're having a bad day? Maybe not as bad as the one Ashley Glawe had recently.

We all know what Samuel Jackson had to say about snakes on a plane. Well, what do you do about a snake in your ear? And it's stuck. Really.

That was the situation 17-year-old Ashley Glawe of Portland found herself in recently. Her pet snake, Bart, had managed to crawl through her gauged ear. Except he didn't make it all the way through.

He got stuck.

"It all happened SO fast that before I even knew what was going on it was already too late," she posted on Facebook.

She called for help. Firefighters were flummoxed. So, it was off to the emergency room at Adventist (in case you ever get a snake stuck in your ear - this might be the hospital to consider).

From there, she posted to Facebook.

She wrote later that they numbed her ear, lubed Bart up, stretched him out, and got him out safely.

When they discharged her, the diagnosis was: "Earlobe foreign body removal."

She writes that she and Bart are doing fine.
