Ardmore Native Nominated for Golden Globe Award in 'La La Land'
An Ardmore native has been nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in the critically acclaimed La La Land.

ARDMORE, PA -- An Ardmore native and songwriter has been nominated for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards for his work on the acclaimed film La La Land.
The song "City of Stars," co-written by Ardmore's Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, was nominated alongside ballads from Moana, Trolls, Sing, and Gold.
La La Land's original score, written by Justin Hurwitz, was also nominated.

La La Land stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in a musical tribute to Los Angeles. The film also led the way in the overall nominations, earning 7 nods including Best Motion Picture in the drama category.
The Golden Globes are perhaps the second most significant award ceremony after the Oscars, and they have historically been a rough barometer for the Academy Awards.

La La Land hit theaters with a limited release December 9. It will expand across the country on December 16.
