Car Fire Backs Up I-76 Traffic In Lower Merion Area, Philly

A car caught fire on Interstate 76 east Wednesday morning, and drivers felt the impact hours later.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A car fire brought traffic on Interstate 76 eastbound in the Lower Merion area and Philadelphia to a halt Wednesday morning.

According to PennDOT, a vehicle caught fire on the highway at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday as many drivers were on their morning commute.

The fire occurred between the US 1 North/Roosevelt Boulevard exit and the Montgomery Drive/West River Drive exit.
