Car Fire Breaks Out Wednesday Morning In Wynnewood
Snow and ice snarled fire engines, keeping crews on scene well after the blaze was extinguished.

Lower Merion fire crews responded to a car fire Wednesday morning in Wynnewood, but it was the weather that made the call difficult and kept responders on scene for hours.
According to the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore, crews responded to a vehicle fire on the 100 Block of Cherry Lane around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The vehicle was fully involved at the end of a unplowed, nearly one-mile-long driveway when crews arrived.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but two fire engines struggled to leave the scene due to snow and ice.
Crews from Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company, Lower Merion Township fire marshals helped shovel out the engines. With the shoveling, the help from a salt truck salt truck, and Merion Fire Company of Ardmore's skilled drivers, the engines were able to get out of the snowy scene safely after about four hours.
