Narberth Hires Cop from Borough

Kelly Lynn is set to bring the force back up to six officers.

Narberth Hires Cop from Borough

Narberth Borough Council voted Monday night to make borough resident Kelly Lynn the sixth officer on the police force.

This brings the department up to six officers for the first time in almost a year. Officer James Conway in September, and Lt. Art Pavoni soon afterward. Officer Sean McCabe has since the force.

Lynn is set to join the force after giving notice and serving out her job with Montgomery County, then going through a borough training program, Borough Manager Bill Martin said. Lynn, who could not be reached for comment Tuesday, graduated last summer from the Montgomery County police academy.

Sgt. Robert Yantorno, the department's senior man in uniform, told Patch he was pleased to have a vacancy filled.

However, Gavin Goschinski, president of the Fraternal Order of Police lodge for Narberth and Lower Merion, told Patch he was "very disappointed in Narberth government." He had criticized the borough in May when a vetted candidate—not Lynn—was and the hiring process was restarted.
