10 Inches of Snow Possible in Bensalem

The National Weather Service is now calling for 4 to 10 inches of snow in Bucks County.

10 Inches of Snow Possible in Bensalem

A winter storm could bring 4 to 10 inches of snow to the Bensalem area Friday and Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts.

A winter storm warning is in effect from 3 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday, according to the weather service. The warning first called for 4 to 8 inches of snow with traces of ice, but was increased to an estimate of 4 to 10 inches.

The storm may start as rain and become snow in the afternoon. The warning states that 1 to 2 inches per hour are expected for several hours Friday evening, with a small chance for a thunderstorm.

The snow is expected to taper to flurries by dawn on Saturday and be a sunny, but cold afternoon.

Bensalem Patch will continue to monitor the forecast, but for now, the weather service says to prepare for major travel delays Friday.

A winter storm warning means a significant amount of snow, sleet and ice are expected with strong winds possible, making travel hazardous or impossible, according to the service.
