The same day a 31-year-old Philadelphia man allegedly used specially made handbags to shoplift $2,300 from Macy's, Bensalem Police allege that he stole seven leather jackets worth close to $2,000.

Demetrice Edwards, of the 3000 block of Fontain Street, was arrested and charged with felony counts of criminal conspiracy and retail theft.

Police allege that on Jan. 4 Edwards stole seven Michael Koors leather jackets from Boscov's at the Neshaminy Mall. Each coat cost $275 for a total loss of $1,925, according to court documents.

Edwards, who faces similar charges in a separate case, is being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $50,000 bail. He awaits a preliminary hearing set for next week.
